Anderson talks Future50, recruiting targets

Texas Tech 2017 offensive line commit Jack Anderson recently participated in the Under Armour Future50 event in Orlando, Florida to kick off 2016 on a good note. While on the trip, Anderson was asked several times about his commitment to the Red Raiders, and the lineman affirmed that he is as solid as a rock.

During the event, Anderson got to go one-on-one versus some of the top prospects in the country like Houston (Texas) Episcopal defensive tackle Marvin Wilson and Lafayette (Louisiana) Northside defensive tackle Tyler Shelvin and feels like he definitely held his own.

Now, the number 47 player in the country is excited to get things going this spring as he prepares for his senior season.

WHAT'S NEXT?

Anderson felt he took home a lot of valuable experience from the Future50 and hopes to apply it in the future with pass blocking technique among other things. Anderson hasn’t gotten a lot of practice in that regard, as his high school is moving to a triple option offense.

In regards to Tech, Anderson will be headed out to Lubbock this weekend for an unofficial visit, and it just so happens that many other 2016 and 2017 commits and prospects will make the trek out too. The four-star lineman also shared names of some of prospects that are high on his list for Tech in 2017.

IN HIS WORDS:

“I’ve been talking to Dawson Deaton, he is one of my friends, and I am real close with him. I talk to Will Farrar and Grayson Reed on the OL, those guys are big. I talk to Terrel Bernard and he is good. I also talk to Adam Beck, we talk a lot and he is a guy that we really want.”

“I’ll be in town on the 22nd with the 2016 guys. Dawson and Will will be in town as well, those are my guys. I’m excited to get Dawson down there now that he has an offer and am excited to get those guys into an environment where they will feel wanted.”

OUR REACTION

Anderson is one of the most high profile prospects Tech has had committed in years, and he's already proudly promoting the Red Raiders to any other 2016 or 2017 prospects that will listen.

It's great to see Anderson making it out to Lubbock to bond with many of his fellow commits from both classes. -Will McKay
