Addison commits to Texas Tech

After working in the Lubbock sports media for the last six years, Will has grown into one of the most trusted Texas Tech football, basketball, and baseball insiders in college athletics.

The Red Raiders picked up their first defensive commit in the 2017 class on Saturday afternoon, as Angleton (Texas) DB Quincy Addison decided to pull the trigger while on his visit to Lubbock over the weekend.

The DB felt at home while on the trip out to West Texas, and he's extremely excited about the chance to play early at Tech.

"I just felt it was the best decision for me and my family, and I have a great opportunity to play early here. That's what it's all about, just playing."

Addison was first team all-district 24-5A last fall as a junior.

He picked Texas Tech over an offer from Texas State and interest from Texas A&M, Baylor, Louisiana-Lafayette, UTSA, Louisiana Tech, SMU, and Tulane.
